In the mountain behind Pinglin Junior High School, the Guanyin Statue was originally a Japanese temple. 40 feet in height, the statue not only is a local landmark but also the tallest bronze Guanyin statue in Northern Taiwan. A round trip between the trailhead and statue takes only 15 minutes, which can be a good easy exercise for the visitors. The Taipei-Yilan Highway and Hsuehshan Tunnel are also in sight.
