Datong Mountain Hiking Trail
The Datong Mountain is 237 meters above sea level, located direct north of Shanjia train station. It is known as the Shulin backgarden. The mountain road to Datong Mountain appears steep, but is in fact quite smooth during actual hike. There are mountain stairs along the trail with rope handles. Halfway up the mountain, Haihwei temple, Haiming temple and Fude temple offer hikers places of rest. Pavilions and view watching platforms are also built on the summit to overlook greater Taipei. It is a great place for watching night views and take a rest on the platform near dusk to enjoy the cool comfortableness of mountain breeze.
