Luo, Ji-Kun is the owner of this workshop, also an important person who is familiar with art and history in Shuinandong, Jinguashi, and Jiufen area. His birthplace is a pristine village in the countryside. So he likes to stay in a pristine village. He came to Jiufen in 1987, and decided to move to there. He published several photo albums and wrote several books on culture and history of Jiufen. "Jiufen Culture and History Workshop" is located in Jishan Street, nearby Jingshan Rock. It is situated on the 2nd floor of the building. It was established by Luo, Ji-Kun in 1992. His motivation to establish Jiufen Culture and History Workshop is to introduce the beauty and history in Shuinandong, Jinguashi, and Jiufen area. He collects lots of photography works, history books, and cultural relics for people to visit. He planned several tour programs for tourists to enjoy culture, history, and beautiful scenery. It is a traditional-style building that has outstanding outlook. It was constructed with rock, brick and wood which are often seen in Shuinandong, Jinguashi, and Jiufen area. The stone sculpture in the building was made of Anshan rock from Jilong Mountain. The old wooden door and riddle couplet on the door are interesting for visitors. The first floor is a studio that sells special handmade clothes and jewellery. Second floor is opened to the public and there are lots of books and photos. Visitors can spend time here by drinking a couple of nice tea while enjoying the atmosphere of the traditional building.
