Shuinandong
Introduction
"Shui-jin-jiu" (Shuinandong, Jinguashi, and Jiufen for short), which was made a tourist attraction by the movie "A City of Sadness," is popular among tourists. Besides the crowded Jiufen Old Street, the neighboring Jinguashi and Shuinandong offer incredible artistic atmosphere. Shancheng Meiguan is where a team of local artists hold occasional exhibitions of wood carvings, metals, and paintings. The neighboring Shancheng Canteen is a good place to relax and take a break. You can enjoy the unbeatable ocean view with locally made steamed buns and soy milk.
Looking into the distance, you will see the beautiful Yinyang Sea (officially called "Liandong Bay"). As the rivers in the mountainous area of Jinguashi flow into the sea, the high mineral content in the water becomes oxidated, forming the half-golden and half-blue wonder at the estuary over time. The Remains of the 13 Levels above Liandong Bay look like an abandoned palace from a distance and therefore is called "Potala Palace on the Mine." The best viewing angle is from Shuinandong Parking Lot and the viewing pavilion in Changren Community.
