The Hemeishan (Hemei Mountain) on the west bank of Bitan provides visitors with a close-up view of Bitan’s east bank and the Bitan Suspension Bridge; and, in the distance, you can see Nangangshan (Nangang Mountain) and Taipei 101. When you turn around, you will also catch a glimpse of Qingtan and Xinwu Road on Xindian’s Beiyi Road, as well as the Wantan area. The complete mountain forests and abundant ecology have attracted various ecological systems, including insects, animals, and birds, forming a natural ecological paradise for visitors to go hiking and observe wildlife.
Hemei Trail is a hiking trail for all age. It is not only short in distance, but also relatively gentle. The entire trail can be divided into the riverside blue route and mountain green route. The entire trail is rich in biodiversity, with nearly 200 species of native butterfly-rearing plants. The beginning of the trail features a gentle slope. As you proceed, you can choose to continue straight or climb stairs to reach the Hemei Summit. Its summit offers excellent views, allowing visitors to overlook the entire Taipei Basin – even Taipei 101 is clearly visible. Not only are there chairs to take a rest along the trail, but also mobile toilets are available at designated spots. This is a simple trail that is suitable for families with children and accessible for wheelchair users.
