Introduction
A Large Commercial District Centered Around Xindian MRT Station
The Xindian Greater Bitan Commercial District is centered around the Xindian MRT Station, spanning several shopping streets and malls around the MRT station and the Bitan Suspension Bridge, including Guangming Street, Xindian Road, Bitan Road, DCC Square, and Bitan East Bank Mall. The formation of the Greater Bitan Commercial District can be traced back to the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty. Bitan, with its open and calm waters, became a distribution center for produce and daily necessities for the areas of Wulai, Muzha, Ankeng, and Jingmei. In the 20th century, the Bitan Suspension Bridge, bus stations, MRT, and other infrastructure were completed, and the convenient transportation made the commercial district livelier and more prosperous.
Enjoy the Scenery of the Three Bitan Bridges and the Waterfront
The waterfront scenery is the most captivating feature of the Greater Bitan Commercial District. The Bitan Suspension Bridge, Bitan Bridge, and National Freeway 3 Bitan Bridge span the Xindian River side by side. The three bridges symbolize the memories and splendor of different eras. While shopping and enjoying delicious food in the commercial district, consider renting a pedal boat in the Bitan waters to admire the view of the three bridges reflecting each other.
