Introduction
A World-Class Bridge Masterpiece
Crossing the Tamsui River estuary, Danjiang Bridge features a majestic 211-meter tower whose image evokes two hands pressed together in prayer, conveying the idea of offering blessings for Taiwan. The main bridge section across the river is 920 meters long, with a main span of 450 meters and a back span of 175 meters, and the bridge deck is approximately 70 meters wide at its widest point. It is the world's longest single-tower asymmetrical cable-stayed bridge by main span.
Blending the Bridge into the Landscape and Enhancing the Beauty of the Sunset over Tamsui District.
From the earliest stages of design, Danjiang Bridge incorporated the scenery of the sunset over Tamsui District into its overall concept. Its clean architectural language reduces visual interference with the skyline. The tower is deliberately offset toward the Tamsui District side, facing Guanyin Mountain in Bali District across the water while preserving the estuary's broad, open views. As dusk falls, the bridge's silhouette interweaves with the sunset glow; its dancer-like rhythmic lines add depth and charm to the sunset over Tamsui District.
