New Taipei City Collaborates with Hualien County Government and Businesses to Host a Promotion Event in Support of Hualien Tourism
 

  [New Taipei City] Since the beginning of this year, Hualien has been severely impacted by earthquakes and typhoons, resulting in significant damage to its industries and tourism sector. To support the recovery of Hualien’s tourism, New Taipei City Mayor Hou You-Yi, following his visit to Hualien in August to show solidarity, today (20th) joined forces with the Hualien County Government and local tourism businesses to hold a Hualien Tourism Promotion Event at the 6th-floor auditorium of New Taipei City Hall. The event aimed to foster better understanding of Hualien’s current tourism conditions and unique features through exchanges between Hualien tourism businesses, New Taipei travel agencies, and relevant city departments, with the hope of encouraging more New Taipei residents to visit Hualien.

He urged everyone to stand together in support of Hualien’s tourism industry and encouraged more people to experience this beautiful place and further assist in the recovery of local industries.   Deputy Magistrate Yen expressed gratitude for the support and assistance from New Taipei City and its businesses. He noted that Hualien offers more than just Taroko Gorge—stretching over 100 kilometers from north to south, it features pristine mountains, rivers, and pollution-free environments. The county government has long prioritized sustainable tourism development. Local tourism businesses enthusiastically participated in the event, creating more opportunities for interaction with New Taipei’s tourism industry. He encouraged people to visit Hualien not only during holidays but also on weekdays, taking advantage of the Tourism Bureau’s subsidy of NT$1,000 per room per person per month until the end of November, as well as the chance to win a Tesla in the “Sustainable Hualien Tourism” lottery. There is also a group tour incentive of up to NT$75,000 for stays of three nights or more. Travel agencies were encouraged to organize group tours to Hualien and experience the region’s eco-tourism.
