(New Taipei City News) In accordance with summer opening hours, Shifen Waterfall will adjust its operating time to be opening from 9am and closing at 18:00 with last entry at 17:30, which will be effective starting June 1st through September 30th.
Tourism and Travel Department, New Taipei City Government pointed out, opening hours at Shifen Waterfall vary between summer and winter. During summer time (June – September), the Waterfall will be open at 9am and will be closed at 18:00, with last entry at 17:30; during winter time (October – May), the opening time stays the same, but the last entry time and closing time are moved up 1 hour so to ensure visitors’ safety. Tourism and Travel Department would like to remind everyone that Shifen Waterfall is situated in the mountains and special caution needs to be made when leaving here in the evening.
Shifen Waterfall has Taiwan’s largest “curtain” waterfall, and admission is free for all. To reach the Waterfall, visitors can take the road in front of Shifen Visitor Center and pass Siguangtan Suspension Bridge and Guanpu Suspension Bridge before arriving at the destination.
Shifen Waterfall is a key scenic spot in New Taipei City, attracting many foreign tourists from Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, South Korea, and more. The traveling itinerary usually encompasses the nearby Yanjingdong Waterfall and Shifen Old Street. Visitors can also take Pingxi Line train to Jingtong, Pingxi, Lingjiao, and Houtong for more in-depth journey, experiencing the simplicity of small towns and attractive natural sceneries as well as being part of Pingxi’s traditional sky lantern culture.
