(New Taipei City News) For the first time, New Taipei City is bringing together the Rock Festival and Tamsui Fisherman Stage – Original Music to create the brand-new 2019 New Taipei City River and Ocean Music Festival. On July 27th, the Festival will begin from Tamsui’s base of original music – Tamsui Fisherman Stage, and it will rock on until August 30th and September 1st with the opening of Ho-Hai-Yan Gongliao Rock Festival. With the integration of two of Taiwan’s major indicative original music festivities, their music will rock you on all summer long. All music fans are welcome to come dance throughout summertime, swaying at the beach and by the ocean waves in the night breeze and by the sunset.

2019 New Taipei City River and Ocean Music Festival, where “River” refers the base of original music created in 2016 – the Tamsui Fisherman Stage – Original Music events, and “Ocean” on the other hand refers to the annual grand festivity for independent bands – Ho-Hai-Yan Gongliao Rock Festival. Incorporation of these two major music pilgrimages offers an opportunity for more outstanding musicians to stand on stage and for more people to learn about Taiwan’s independent original music! This year’s participating bands break the historical record with 148 bands in total, and the performing groups and singers also include the widely known Golden Melody Awards recipients – EggPlantEgg, Matzka, Wu Tsing-Fong, 831, and Tizzy Bac. Moreover, Gongliao Beach, where the Rock Festival takes place, will also for the first time this year be coordinating with the International Sand Sculpture Art Festival, where amazing works made by sand sculpting experts from all over the world will be on display. Visitors will not only be greatly moved by the music, they will also be able to enjoy a beautiful visual feast.
Tamsui Fisherman Stage takes place every Saturday and Sunday, July 27th – August 25th, renowned bands take turn to perform on stage.
New Taipei City River and Ocean Music Festival this year will be leading music fans to experience a whole new music adventure journey. Sailing off from Tamsui Fisherman Stage, the Festival will come back to Tamsui Fisherman Stage on July 27th (Saturday), July 28th (Sunday), and August 3rd (Saturday) for the preliminary competition of the Rock Festival. And starting August 4th (Sunday), rock n’ roll stars from all over, including Super Obvious, Random, Non-sense Collective, Waynes So Sad, Guntzepaula, EggPlantEgg, SweetJohn, Angry Youth, Men Envy Children, Boxing, and more, will be gathered here. From July 27th through August 25th, a total of 78 bands will be congregated here every Saturday and Sunday (5 weeks), singing under the iron Japanese seer fish flag. As the spectacular sunset shines upon the beach, music fans will be able to enjoy beer, some light meals and other tasty treats as they appreciate the sunset afterglow and the wonderful original music while swaying with the music.
Ho-Hai-Yan Gongliao Rock Festival kicks off on 8/30-9/1. Rock Festival Preliminary Competition starts off the events on 7/27.
One thing worth mentioning is that, among more than a hundred new music talents who have registered for the Festival, there are drastically diverse music writing styles. The Rock Festival Judging Committee will select top 30 performers for the Rock Festival Preliminary Competition taking place on Tamsui Fisherman Stage on July 27th (Saturday), July 28th (Sunday), and August 3rd (Saturday) to start off the New Taipei City River and Ocean Music Festival. During these three days of preliminary competition, there will be 30 bands showing off their techniques on the stage. And top 10 teams will be selected into the Final Competition occurring on August 30th (Friday), August 31st (Saturday), and September 1st (Sunday) in the grand finale on the last three days of Ho-Hai-Yan Gongliao Rock Festival as they compete to take down the Ocean Flag desired by all independent music artists. All music fans shall not miss this opportunity – hurry and come to Fisherman Stage to enjoy and experience first-hand a feast of original music coming from outstanding bands all over Taiwan.
